Privacy Policy

Gaarsia Academic Advisory ("Gaarsia", "we", "us") is the data controller for personal data processed through www.gaarsia.com and the MyGaarsia candidate, advisor, and founder portals. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the GDPR and applicable national law.

Data we collect

Account data (name, email, authentication identifiers), Pathway Review and Pathway Blueprint questionnaire responses, uploaded documents (CV, transcripts, statements, identity and funding evidence), payment records via Stripe, advisor–candidate messages, usage logs, and cookie/analytics data where you consent.

Lawful bases

We process data to perform our contract with you (delivering advisory services), comply with legal obligations (tax, accounting), pursue legitimate interests (platform security, service improvement), and, where required, based on your consent (non-essential cookies and certain marketing analytics).

How we use data

Data is used to deliver evidence-based advisory services, generate Pathway Review scores previews and Pathway Blueprint Report outputs, assign advisors, process payments, send service notifications, and maintain platform security. We do not sell your personal data and we do not accept university commissions that would bias recommendations.

Processors & transfers

We use vetted subprocessors including Supabase (hosting and database), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email), Vercel (application hosting), and Google Tag Manager / analytics tools where you consent. Data may be processed in the EU and, where subprocessors operate globally, under appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention

We retain account and advisory records for the duration of your engagement and for a reasonable period thereafter to support refunds, disputes, and regulatory obligations. You may request earlier deletion subject to legal retention requirements.

Your rights

You may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing. Contact [email protected]. You may lodge a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet) or your local supervisory authority.
